Antiche Cantine Migliaccio

DESCRIPTION
Antiche Cantine Migliaccio on the island of Ponza is a classic example of “heroic” viticulture. On the unspoiled Punta Fieno, where the winery’s vineyards are located, there are small patches of land nestled among the rocks that stretch all the way to the sea. The winery’s history dates back to 1734, when Charles of Bourbon granted Pietro Migliaccio—a native of the island of Ischia—several plots of land where he planted the typical Ischian grape varieties: Biancolella, Forastera, Guarnaccia, Piedirosso, and Aglianico. In 2000, Emanuele Vittorio Migliaccio and his wife Luciana Sabino revived the venture, achieving remarkable results in terms of character and refined technique.
