Trentodoc Festival 2025

Trentodoc Festival – the event where mountain bubbles become storytelling, culture, landscape, identity
Trentodoc Festival from September 26 to 28 will experience its fourth edition and will feature the production territories.
The Festival will enliven the frescoed halls of Trento’s historic center, hidden gardens, open cellars and the most striking natural views. Great oenologists, experts and personalities from the world of wine, food and entertainment will guide the public in an immersive experience among guided tastings, show cooking, thematic meetings, moments of celebration and opportunities to get together and share. Undisputed protagonists will be the 69 sparkling wine houses associated with the Trento Doc Institute, which will open their doors to visitors. To appreciate the mountain bubbles in their place of origin.
The 2025 edition promises to be the richest and most immersive ever, with 166 events over three days.
Trentodoc Festival will appeal to a cross-section of audiences: from wine lovers to glamour enthusiasts and industry experts. The heart of the Festival will beat in the historic center of Trento, among palaces, courtyards, gardens and unexpected places. But it will also expand to the territories of Trentino, where it will be possible to participate in 128 winery events, organized by the sparkling wine houses.
The beating heart of the Festival will be the appointments with the protagonists, a rich schedule curated by Luciano Ferraro, artistic director of Trentodoc Festival and deputy editor of Corriere della Sera. Prominent names from the world of wine, culture, cuisine, journalism and entertainment will give voice to wine by telling it through unprecedented and surprising looks. On the Wine Talks stage, among others, philosopher Telmo Pievani will explore the difference altitude makes in the glass, while Corriere della Sera columnist Riccardo Luna will lead the audience in a reflection on artificial intelligence and the future of wine.
The Sparkling Stories, moderated by Corriere della Sera journalists Alessandro Cannavò and Roberta Scorranese, will bring eclectic personalities capable of excitement to Trento: Saturnino, bassist and producer among the most iconic of the Italian music scene, will open the cycle with a sound and visual narration. Joining him during the weekend will be musician and stand up comedian Ghemon, comic actress and imitator Lucia Ocone, naturalist biologist and writer Daniel Lumera, great actor and voice actor Francesco Pannofino, and writer Ilaria Tuti.
Also returning are Cook Tales, curated by the Corriere della Sera’s Cook editorial staff, dialogues and show cooking with tastings with some of the world’s most important protagonists of the food and wine scene, including many celebrity chefs, starred chefs and newcomers: from Rossella Cerea to Giuseppe Iannotti, Maurizio Bufi, Anthony Genovese, Jessica Rosval, Alessandro Negrini, Fabio Pisani, Sabrina Macrì, Giacomo Sacchetto, Stefano Rossi, Luca Andrè, Alexander Robles, Matteo Maenza, Matteo and Riccardo Vergine, Roberto Conti, Riccardo Monco, and Nicolò Quarteroni. Taste will be the leitmotif of these encounters that through the art of cooking tell the story of the excellence of Italian food and wine and of the Trentino region.
Also returning is the creative contest dedicated to operators who are members of ASAT – Federalberghi Trentino, Confcommercio Imprese per l’Italia – Trentino, Confesercenti del Trentino, Associazione Agriturismo Trentino, the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino, the Strada dei Formaggi delle Dolomiti and the Strada della Mela delle Valli di Non e di Sole. From July 15 to October 15, they will be able to tell their experience with Trentodoc on social media, using the hashtag #trentodocfestivalcontest, to become part of the Festival’s collective narrative.
Trentodoc in Enoteca will see themed tastings at the Enoteca provinciale del Trentino in Palazzo Roccabruna, for an additional fee, featuring fine selections in the Riserva, Blanc de Noirs and Pas Dosé types, paired with the excellent cuisine of local restaurateurs.
The Festival also features a full calendar of Trentodoc Tastings, true sensory experiences led by sommeliers and industry experts.
Sixteen appointments, designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the different expressions of bubbles made in Trentino. Facilitating the discovery, nuances and complexity of Trentodoc will be seven of Italy’s best sommeliers, selected by the Italian Sommelier Association. They are all Trentodoc ambassadors, including Andrea Gualdoni, reigning Ais best sommelier, along with the extraordinary and well-established presence of Essi Avellan, Master of Wine and one of the most authoritative international voices in the world of bubbles.
Among the scheduled tastings, evocative titles stand out, such as “From the abysses to the peaks: extreme Trentodocs,” dedicated to productions born in exceptional conditions, and “Zero compromises,” an ode to the purest expressions of the classic method, zero dosage. And also “The new wave,” discovering the production style of young producers, or “Welcome,” which aims to introduce new labels.
Alongside traditional tastings, this year the Festival strengthens an innovative format designed for a younger audience: experiential workshops. With “Become a sommelier for a day” and “Five glasses for Trentodoc,” participants can test themselves in a game of discovery and comparison, learning the basics of tasting in a dynamic and accessible way. Closing this journey of sensory exploration will be a unique event: “Trentodoc, music for the brain…,” a scientific and emotional workshop led by Professor Vincenzo Russo of IULM, who will lead participants to understand how perception and emotions influence the reading of wine.
More than 120 Trentodoc in Cantina events will take place directly in the spaces of the sparkling wine houses, which will open their doors for tastings, wine trekking and yoga, dance parties, creative workshops, food pairings and close encounters with producers. Alongside these experiences, the city of Trento will come alive thanks to the collaboration of bars, restaurants and agritourisms that will offer themed menus, evening events, showcooking and musical moments. The Festival will also extend to the valleys, among the vineyards and wine roads, where it will be possible to experience Trentodoc where it was born. In addition, throughout the weekend 53 sparkling wine houses will be open for tours and tastings.
Trentodoc Festival will be much more than a wine event. Each bubble will be a story worth listening to.
