In this column we give an account of the month's new restaurant and wine bar openings up and down the peninsula. These are, it should be pointed out, reports and not reviews, as none of us have yet had the opportunity to eat at that particular upcoming establishment. Here are the new June openings.
Despite the undeniable crisis in the restaurant industry regarding wait staff and kitchen staff, there remains a great ferment evident in the number of new restaurant openings. Various types are embraced, from gourmet restaurant to trattoria, from pizzeria to ethnic restaurant.
Wide is the price range related to new restaurants, ranging from the cheaper ones, set on traditional cuisine and pizza, to the decidedly higher-end ones, perhaps inside luxury hotels.
Often the guarantee of the quality of the restaurant is the experience of the owner, often the reliability of the chef, often the skills of the manager. But many other factors come into play in determining the success of a restaurant, from location to decor, from parking facilities to the wine list (something we value).
Here’s a chance for you to try new experiences.
The article is updated regularly with reports of new openings that we learn about.

Marmo by Anna, the revolution of the historic club in San Lorenzo Rome
The venue, which over the years has become a landmark for music and entertainment lovers, reopens its doors under the leadership of Gianfranco Cancelli, offering the format that has seen it starring at Anna Trattoria Moderna, in a new look to be discovered.
A venue to be experienced by choosing from the different moments of the evening. Marble, with its spacious and cozy rooms, more than a hundred covers between indoor and outdoor, allowing everyone to enjoy their privacy. The restaurant is open from 6 p.m., for an aperitif that ranges from a series of tapas such as fried cod, pan brioche with ciauscolo and sheep’s milk ricotta, patatas bravas, and even porchetta with puttanesca and a selection of Lattanzi cold cuts; designed for sharing, on the menu we also find several crunchy pizzas, from margherita to “pepperoni,” from the one with chard, pecorino cheese and black guanciale, to potato provolone and porchetta; there is also no shortage of an appetizer tasting formula that echoes the culinary line of Anna Trattoria Moderna. And it is from this establishment that the dinner proposal is inspired.

Contempo is born: the restaurant of Donna Camilla Savelli
The Ferro e Fuoco restaurant at the Donna Camilla Savelli, a Roman hotel in the VRetreats collection, a hôtellerie brand of VOIhotels, changes its face and renews itself with a new identity, marking the beginning of a new chapter: Contempo is born.
The term, reminiscent of “contemporary,” in fact expresses the desire to embrace innovation while remaining rooted in tradition. Contempo narrates a new gastronomic vision: an experience in which the classic flavors of Roman cuisine are reinterpreted with elegance, technique and creativity, offering dishes that respect history but speak the language of our time. At the helm of the kitchen remains Chef Emidio Ferro, a landmark of the restaurant and author of a gastronomic proposal that combines elegance, tradition and creativity in every dish. His cuisine accompanies guests throughout the day with an All Day Dining offer designed to meet different tastes and needs.

Oven & Stove debuts
At Lorenzo Fortuna Pizza Chef, the curtain rises on a new taste journey of doughs and cooking in the name of creativity.
It is called “Forno & Fornelli” and it is the new format conceived by master pizza maker Lorenzo Fortuna, who wants to pay homage to Calabria, its products and its artisans with a series of tasting dinners where the protagonists will be his creative doughs and signature toppings by guest chefs.
It starts on Thursday, June 12, with a special preview together with young chef Federica Di Lieto, one of the most pop names on the regional culinary scene. After the summer, the official calendar will be known with the monthly Forno & Fornelli events and the names of the upcoming guests who promise a real taste spectacle.
A project developed by Lorenzo Fortuna, who emphasizes, “For some time now I have wanted to create moments of discussion with fellow chefs, to put my many doughs at the disposal of their kitchen and their inspiration, to make people understand how pizza and cooking can give life to a special combination of taste, where tradition and modernity meet. It will be until the end of the year 4 dinners to celebrate our region and its excellence, but also the talents who can give it a voice with their work “.

Santina Capri opens
Capri has a new address to discover: her name is Santina Capri and tells of a passion passed down through generations, born among the white pebbles of Nerano along the Amalfi Coast. Santina Capri comes to life from the experience of La Conca del Sogno, the Tizzani family’s historic gastronomic oasis nestled in the rocks of the small bay of Recommone, between Marina del Cantone and Positano. A project by Juri Insigne, grandson of founder Pietro Tizzani and son of Antonella Tizzani, who brings the family tradition to the Mediterranean’s most iconic island.
Just a few steps from the famous Piazzetta, on Fuorlovado Street, Santina Capri speaks a Mediterranean language that is contemporary and intimately authentic: a new voice in Capri’s gastronomic symphony, a tale of sea, fjords and wind. Santina Capri has deep roots in the gastronomic tradition of the Coast and a keen eye on the present and Capri culture. Chef Umberto Mazza, a Neapolitan from Torre del Greco, reinterprets the flavors of the area with lightness, precision and soul: he has a contemporary vision of Mediterranean taste.
