Tenuta San Guido and CNR kick off research project to protect and safeguard the tree heritage of one of Tuscany’s most iconic places in the world.
Tenuta San Guido and theInstitute for Sustainable Plant Protection of the National Research Council. (IPSP-CNR) announce the launch of an innovative research project. The project is aimed at defending and safeguarding the trees of Bolgheri’s Monumental Avenue. The five-year project (2025-2029) will involve a comprehensive program of phytosanitary monitoring, specialized training, assistance in the sanitary remediation of cypress trees, and replanting of the trees with native clones selected for resistance to cortical cancer.
The Avenue of Cypresses in Bolgheri represents a natural and scenic heritage of inestimable value. With this initiative, Tenuta San Guido and IPSP-CNR join forces to ensure the protection and rehabilitation of this green monument. By promoting targeted actions based on rigorous scientific studies.
