Appuntamento Soave (Soave appointment): contemporary elegance. On Sept. 8, at the Circolo Ufficiali in Verona, the event dedicated to the best of Soave interpretations returns.

On Monday, September 8, at the Circolo Ufficiali di Castelvecchio (Verona), Appuntamento Soave returns, the event, curated by the Consorzio di Tutela del Soave in collaboration with the Strada del Vino Soave and the support of Banco BPM, dedicated to the best interpretations of the iconic Italian white wine, a symbol of Made in Italy worldwide.

Elegance in elegance, this year, for an edition that sees the participation of more than 40 member wineries, on the most beautiful terrace of Verona, underlining the strong link with the city of Verona. In fact, the event was created with the intention of telling the story of Soave starting from the heart of Verona, divulging the excellence of the wine and the beauty of the hills – recognized as a world agricultural heritage by the FAO – to sector operators, specialized press, wine lovers and enthusiasts.

Contemporary, indigenous, and elegant will be the adjectives that will return often in the 2025 edition of Appuntamento Soave, starting with which seminars, masterclasses, talk shows dedicated to current issues for the sector, and tasting counters will kick off. Space will also be given to an analysis of the evolutionary potential that characterizes Soave. Elegance, which in Soave is found both when one is faced with a vintage glass, fresher and fruitier, and when one is faced with a more evolved glass, with references to minerality and tertiary scents.

Format:

Between seminars, tasting counters and talk shows dedicated to current events in the sector, Soave presents itself as an icon of Italian white wine. Wine elegance, contemporaneity with respect to consumption trends, evolutionary potential among the topics that will be addressed.

The format, while dedicated to wine, is intended as an opportunity for cultural discussion on major contemporary issues, clearly interconnected with the world of wine production. The value of Soave’s enological identity, its marked contemporaneity, the importance of its landscape and the versatility of a wine that is excellent when enjoyed young and fresh, but surprising when left to evolve a few years in the bottle, will be explored. It will be an intense day featuring producers, sommeliers and the restaurant world.

“Appuntamento Soave” will speak to the press and operators, will address in a privileged way to the world of catering and sommelierie, but also to the public of enthusiasts and the less experienced, because, let’s not forget, wine is first of all the pleasure of conviviality and the joy of being together.

• 10:30 a.m. – “Soave, from freshness to longevity ” – training seminar by AIS
• 2 p.m. – “Soave Seven, from freshness to longevity ” – Masterclass conducted by Jeff Porter, Wine Enthusiast’s signature for Italy.
• 4:00 p.m. – “Soave, authentic, indigenous, contemporary ” – Round Table with Michele Cannone (Lavazza Global Brand Director); Achille Scudieri (Vice President Adler Group – Director of Tenute Scudieri); Barba Ferro (Managing Director of Veronafiere Spa); Jeff Porter (Wine Enthusiast); Mons. Bruno Fasani (President of the Fondazione Biblioteca Capitolare di Verona and Director of Telepace); Cristian Ridolfi (President of Consorzio del Consorzio del Soave). Luciano Ferraro, deputy editor of Corriere della Sera, will moderate the meeting.
• 6:30 p.m. – Opening of the event to the public – an elegant tasting counter on the banks of the Adige River, on Verona’s most beautiful terrace. There will be small tastings of typical local products by the Soave Wine Road.
