In the heart of Florence opens Strozzi Bistrò

New opening: Strozzi Bistrò: the beginning of a new journey between art and taste. Inside Palazzo Strozzi, a culinary experience between artistic contaminations and signature design.

Combining art, taste and design in one space in the heart of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance and a global icon of Italian-ness. That’s the goal of Strozzi Bistrò, a new destination that officially opens inside Palazzo Strozzi and gives the Tuscan capital and its visitors a food and wine and hospitality experience under the banner of art and culture.

Overlooking the inner courtyard of Palazzo Strozzi, the bistro was created with the desire to integrate seamlessly with the historic Florentine residence both in terms of public enjoyment and in architectural terms, in an all-around experience for lovers of fine cuisine and art in all its forms. A new opening enhanced by the intervention of two prestigious signatures from the world of Italian design and fine dining, respectively: Fabio Novembre and Tommaso Arrigoni.

STROZZI BISTRO BETWEEN HISTORY & DESIGN

Strozzi Bistrò was conceived by Novembre Studio as a site-specific project that celebrates and enhances the style of Palazzo Strozzi and its history. The symmetrical layout of the original cross vaults is emphasized by coincident geometric flooring; the same is true for the wall capitals that reach the floor through new, specially designed pilasters. The room is thus transformed into a large telescope framing the imposing glass bottle rack that traces the shape of the original doorway.

The bar counter as well as the kitchen space, on the other hand, are upholstered in leather with a brick pattern that hints at the rusticated exterior facade. The walls in shades of blue, the museum’s social color, are decorated with a specially designed wallpaper, also by Novembre Studio, featuring the three crescent moons, heraldic symbols of the Strozzi family.

STROZZI BISTRO BETWEEN ART & TASTE

Open daily from 9 a.m. to midnight, Strozzi Bistrò offers full-service dining, from breakfast to dinner, in an exclusive setting in perfect Florentine style. With 40 indoor seats for lunches and dinners, Strozzi Bistrò also offers a striking outdoor area directly in the palace’s central courtyard, giving guests a direct view of the most important and spectacular art installations that traditionally occupy this area.

In the kitchen, the menu bears the signature of Tommaso Arrigoni, integrating some of his signature dishes, such as the CBT (Low Temperature Cooked) Egg, to more local reinterpretations, such as the Bistrò’s Pici al Ragù Ricco, a reminder of the bold flavors of traditional Florentine gastronomy, or even the toasted Pan brioche with Tuscan-style liver pate and vin santo gel. A menu designed for the international and non-international public that passes through the walls of the historic mansion, with an offer capable of enhancing Florentine taste and appreciable at several times of the day by the museum’s many visitors. The food proposal is, of course, flanked by the beverage proposal, which combines the wine list with a mixology made up of revisiting the great classics and experimentation, with cocktails inspired each time by the exhibitions and their protagonists who take turns at the palace. Real liquid works of art in which to find the link between taste, history and the heritage of Palazzo Strozzi.
