Kohl’s: refreshing and non-alcoholic

Kohl, meleto

At nearly 1,000 meters above sea level in South Tyrol, on the Ritten Plateau, Thomas Kohl creates high quality mountain apple juice. Non-alcoholic, of course, and really good. Daniele Cernilli‘s word.

Thomas Kohl calls himself the “first apple juice refiner in Italy.” and it is true.

His company, which is called precisely Kohl, is located in Auna di Sotto, at the foot of the Renon and the mouth of the Isarco Valley. Its “mountain” apple juices, as it calls them, are made in the apple orchards around there. Sustainably farmed, with Vegan certification.

Most importantly, they are among the best tasting soft drinks I have ever tasted. Both those in the Pure, single-varietal juices made from Gravensteiner, Sonnenglanz, Rubinette, Pinova, Jonagold and Rouge apples, and the Cuvée, also made with apple juices, with added Currant, Mandarin, Apricot, Mint, Pineapple, Wild Blueberry, Hop, Peach, Elderflower, Pear and Carrot.

Kohl's, mountain juicesThe prices of these wonders range from 5 to 8 euros, buying them directly online, as I personally did. The features are obviously different for each of the products, but the one thing they have in common is the freshness and not being cloying at all.

If you want something non-alcoholic it is hard to find better.
