Drinking this vintage Ampelio told me that to make something good out of it he had to select almost berry by berry.
The vintage was torrid, to say the least, but he who had already skipped the horrendous 2002 could not afford not to come out with his flagship wine.
And the miracle was punctually accomplished, with a wine that has its fair share of freshness and drinkability while still paying duty to the normally high complexity and organoleptic breadth.
