Beaten 1,108,300 euros at Grinzane Cavour Castle for the Barolo en primeur 2025 charity auction. For Donato Lanati, a charity auction that unites in the sign of giving. At stake is the 2024 vintage: special vintage, bright and elegant wines.
More than one million funds raised at the Fifth Edition of Barolo en primeur, the noble charity project born five years ago. A partnership between Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo, Fondazione CRC Donare ETS and Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani. Fundamental was the collaboration with eno-scientist Donato Lanati and his team at Enosis Meraviglia.
The project, referring to the 2024 vintage, consists of 23 lots associated with 15 barrels, 14 of which were auctioned on Friday, October 24, at Grinzane Cavour Castle where Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour’s Gustava vineyard stands. Along with the 23 lots there were also 8 communal lots (consisting of 672 bottles, 205 Magnums, 26 Jeroboams and 4 Rehoboams) that, in total, totaled 1,108,300 euros.
The allocation of these funds to nonprofits is partly of free choice and partly tied to projects in the social, artistic, naturalistic and environmental fields. They will be joined by those referring to the remaining barrel, which will be auctioned on November 9 in Alba at the World White Truffle Auction.
In 2028 the wine contained in the different barriques will have completed its aging under the careful supervision of winemaker Donato Lanati. Then 270 bottles marked with the signature label signed by Giulia Cenci will be made from each barrique.
