The fifth edition of Pasqua White Multivintage confirms an out-of-the-box project that has redefined the language, identity and ambitions of contemporary wine. Between experimentation, art and new collaborations, the “House of the Unconventional” continues to push the boundaries. Sissi Baratella tells us about it.
Hey French, the Easter white wine that has made provocation a stylistic signature, reaches its 5th edition. The House of the Unconventional continues to surprise, but by now this project – Hey French! You could have made this but you didn’t, with label iconic signed CB Hoyo – is a certainty.
Multivintage as an identity choice

Born in 2013, it is a multi vintage wine that has paved the way for a new generation of products capable of transcending the boundaries of tradition, often-with no disrespect to anyone-without making appellations regretful.
The idea was clear: to break out of the paradigm of big reds with a breakthrough white. However, changing color was not enough; a radical project was needed. Hence the choice (and the experimentation) of multivintage. This practice is not entirely foreign to the regulations (our specifications already stipulate that vintage wine can be refreshed with 15 percent of other vintages), but here boldly taken to the extreme with the voluntary abandonment of DOC and IGT.
The V edition: balance and future vision
Hey French in its five editions has thus seen the vintages within it change and, with the most recent versions, the percentages of grapes as well. Edition V is composed of 80% Garganega, 10% Sauvignon and 10% Pinot Blanc. But even in the multi verse of the unconventional, certain choices are unavoidable. Central remains the choice of vineyard: Monte Calvarina, black soils, marked slopes, 600 meters altitude.
The five editions have nothing to envy one another. Each edition has shown personality and evolutionary ability. The most recent ones are distinguished by a more taut, fresh and elegant profile. V combines 2020, 2022, 2019, 2018, 2024 and 2015, also introducing a change in approach: from 2019 for the first time the varieties are blended together.
From wine to art: the cultural project

Project extends beyond wine. Riccardo Pasqua, CEO, and his family are strengthening ties with Verona through a new cultural patronage initiative linked to the Summer Theater at the Roman Theater, an iconic venue and landmark for the people of Verona and an international audience passionate about shows, music and theater.
Loudly shouting this collaboration is a striking installation (the best place to appreciate it is from Ponte Pietra) signed CB Hoyo on the railings of the theater. The winery thus strengthens its commitment to supporting art and culture, focusing new investments on the city.
“Netflix and chill” is now outdated, the real transgression now is. Theater and chill? (+wine) …
New challenges: comes the international red

What’s new for The House of the Unconventional However, they do not end there. Presented at Vinitaly 2026, a multivintage red was born. 100% Pinot Noir, grown at 600 meters on the easternmost border of Valpolicella, Quattro Mani was born out of a collaboration with Charles Smith, Washington State winemaker. Two worlds and two ways of conceiving wine coming together in something that has never existed before. All overseen by the Easter Family winemaker, formerly the creator of Hey French, Carlo Olivari.
A project that satisfies on all levels. Dedicated vineyard, selected rootstocks, a way of conceiving wine between the elegance of the savoir faire Italian and the power and fullness of the fruit, distinctive and typical traits of making wine overseas. (Pasqua has become the exclusive global distributor of House of Smith brands since 2025)
Also digital communication and labels follow the same uncompromising line: black and white, brutal and sinuous at the same time. The first edition sees the union of 2018, 2022, 2023 and 2025. Use of tonneau and barrique, light toasting and French oak.
This new project combines old and new world. It breaks down barriers and prejudices and invites a freer approach to wine, centered on pleasure and imagination. Exciting to say the least, the House of the Unconventional is an increasingly concrete project and something to take inspiration from. As it were, something you could have done, but did not.
