Prosecco Superiore, the wine of lovers

Coppia brinda con Prosecco Superiore San Valentino

Valentine’s Day is approaching and, Stefania Vinciguerra reminds us, “the obligation” to celebrate dictates that we choose a wine for the toast. What better choice than a fragrant Prosecco Superiore?

If, as Sissi Baratella said recently., the Prosecco Superiore (the Docg one from Conegliano Valdobbiadene, to be clear) is “among the most modern and contemporary wines ever“, however, we cannot deny that it is also the wine of lovers. And since it’s Valentine’s Day in a few days, the now ubiquitous holiday of lovers, here I am ready to recommend a few Prosecco Superiore wines that will manage to bring together even those who are not real wine lover.

Bubbly, you know, likes it, and Prosecco likes it even more. The reasons? These come to mind:

  • fragrance in perfumes
  • bubbles on the palate
  • slight residual sugar
  • low alcohol content
  • ease of drinking

If anyone is turning up their nose, I would like to remind them that there is also such a thing as carefree drinking, without too much lucubration, cheerful and pleasant, which does not involve study and concentration in order to be enjoyed.

Why Prosecco Superiore Docg and not just Prosecco Doc? For me ça va sans dire: from the hills of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area (by the way, a marvelous landscape, well worth the trip, not coincidentally entered in the Unesco heritage) derives to the wine a greater complexity and depth, so ease of drinking does not imply banality.

So here are three Prosecco Superiore wines worth buying: we also chose them for their shelf price within 15 euros. The producers are Adami, Nino Franco e Valdo.
