New openings September 2025

Nuove aperture Settembre 2025

In this column we give an account of the month's new restaurant and wine bar openings up and down the peninsula. These are, it should be pointed out, reports and not reviews, as none of us have yet had the opportunity to eat at that particular upcoming establishment. Here are the new September openings.

Despite the undeniable crisis in the restaurant industry regarding wait staff and kitchen staff, there remains a great ferment evident in the number of new restaurant openings. Various types are embraced, from gourmet restaurant to trattoria, from pizzeria to ethnic restaurant.

Wide is the price range related to new restaurants, ranging from the cheaper ones, set on traditional cuisine and pizza, to the decidedly higher-end ones, perhaps inside luxury hotels.

Often the guarantee of the quality of the restaurant is the experience of the owner, often the reliability of the chef, often the skills of the manager. But many other factors come into play in determining the success of a restaurant, from location to decor, from parking facilities to the wine list (something we value).

Here’s a chance for you to try new experiences.

The article is updated regularly with reports of new openings that we learn about.

Inferno Pizza Bar RomeInferno Pizza Bar opens in Rome: true Roman pan pizza

It’s not just a new opening, but a return to the origins with an eye to the future: this is how Inferno Pizza Bar, the pizzeria by the slice of brothers Giorgio and Valerio Giglietti, already known for successful formats such as Biffi and Bauhaus, presents itself in the Garbatella district. Located at No. 4 Piazza Eugenio Biffi, Inferno promises to become a new reference point for those who love authentic Roman pizza, lightened and perfected with modern techniques.

Behind the dough is the work of pizzaiolo Stefano Zanella, who starts with a mix of Italian grain flours from the Roman company Di Marco (type 0 wheat, soy, and rice) to make a direct leavening dough that rises for at least 48 hours. The result is a crisp, light and highly digestible pizza baked in the traditional Castelli oven.

Brucio romeBrucio lands in Prati: Roman pizza and traditional cuisine

Following the huge success of its Piazza delle Coppelle and Testaccio locations, Brucio announced the opening of its third location in Rome, on Via Settembrini, which took place on September 16, 2025. Lo Chef Antonio Romano, formerly at the helm of Coppelle’s kitchen, offers a traditional Roman menu, with some seasonal novelties. Antela prati romeIn Prati Roma comes Antela, the new urban garden among signature cocktails

Among the streets of Prati, one of the capital’s liveliest and busiest neighborhoods, comes Antela, the new restaurant with cocktail bar that transforms the garden of the NH Collection Roma Centro (Via dei Gracchi 332, with independent access from the hotel structure) into a green oasis with an urban jungle atmosphere. After a soft first opening last June, the venue has just opened and opened to the public, with a project destined to become one of the benchmarks for Roman dining and mixology.

The gastronomic proposal is signed by well-known chef Natale Giunta, who already leads the kitchen of Oro Bistrot in Rome. With Antela he brings to the Capital the spirit of his Palermo restaurant City Sea, right on the harbor, combining gourmet cuisine and sushi bar in an elegant and cosmopolitan format. The offer starts with lunch, available Monday through Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., with a smart and fast menu-three buns (meat, fish, vegetarian), gourmet salads and selected dinner dishes. Following that, the restaurant stays open until midnight with the full proposal.
