Angelini Wines & Estates acquires a majority stake in Arnaldo Caprai, the flagship winery of Sagrantino di Montefalco. The deal consolidates the group’s presence in the high end of the market, adding a brand with strong ties to the Umbrian territory to its portfolio.

The understanding is based on a shared vision: long-term investment, strengthening in international markets and enhancing corporate identities without homogenizing interventions.

Angelini Wines & Estates, part of Angelini Industries, brings together six production entities distributed in different areas of Italy: Bertani in Valpolicella, Val di Suga in Montalcino, Tenuta Trerose in Montepulciano, San Leonino in Chianti Classico, Fazi Battaglia in Marche, and Puiatti in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The group has a total of about 1,700 hectares, 460 of which are planted with vines, and an annual production of about 4 million bottles.

The symbol of Sagrantino di Montefalco. Founded in 1971 and developed by Marco Caprai, it has played a decisive role in the recovery of Sagrantino, thanks to intensive research into clonal selection and focused work on winemaking techniques. Sagrantino 25 Anni represents the best-known label, contributing to the denomination’s international diffusion. The winery is also committed to environmental sustainability, with dedicated protocols for vineyard and production management.

Marco Caprai retains the position of president and CEO, ensuring continuity in management.
