Here is the very special ranking of the 10 most read articles in this 2024 just behind us on DoctorWine. The reasoned opinion is what interests us most.
We intentionally left out of this ranking the articles dedicated to the presentations of the Essential Guide to the Wines of Italy 2025, both the one in Milan and the one in Rome, as well as the pages devoted to the award-winning wines in the guide itself. Every year they play the lion’s share of the most viewed articles, and this needs no comment. The Guide is perhaps the heart of our editorial network, and everything that revolves around it, both as events and awards, is of great interest.
We then come to the actual articles
The most widely read is the one that Daniele Cernilli dedicated to the end of the era of wine production and consumption as we have always seen it. Then the eternal question of the wine scores, yes or no, which always excites those who follow the wine world. In third place we find the editorial that talks about Sauvignon, the most loved and hated grape variety. In fourth place, not a pure editorial, but Stefania Vinciguerra’s account of one of our initiatives: that of the videos dedicated to 2025 award-winning wines, a sign that the video world has a strong following. We return to the topical issues covered by the director with an examination of the “friendly fire” against the French wine sector, definitely under attack. In sixth place we find an analysis of the Italian wine-growing reality
, with some general remarks. Seventh is the editorial devoted to the world of the yeasts, which traces the controversy on the topic related to the use of selected or “indigenous” yeasts while in eighth place returns Stefania Vinciguerra, who writes about the enemies of origin, i.e. those who favor the grape variety or method at the expense of the territory.
